【Taiwan】Day 1 of 6 @ Taipei 2013 ✈️

For the last few years, whenever Miss Wai Ting go back to Hong Kong, she would also have a short trip somewhere else in Asia, simply because the flight ticket will be much cheaper as it’ll be a shorter distance XD

Let’s get started shall we?

Day 1

Hong Kong International Airport (Dep. time 1330) → Taipei Taoyuan Airport (Arr. time 1515)

The first thing Miss Wai Ting went to do when she arrived in Taiwan, was to actually exchanged her currency first. Do note that they will take a NT$30 charge (around GBP 0.70).

Miss Wai Ting then went to the Tourist Information Desk to register for Free Wifi Service.

This enables you to use their Free WiFi service when you are around the city. The WiFi coverage is actually pretty good, however there are blind spots, so it is best not to rely too much on their service!

You can now also register online before visiting to Taiwan and activate your account once you have passed immigration.

Airport → Hotel (San Want Hotel)

Miss Wai Ting took the 5201 Evergreen Bus towards Taipei City (single trip NT$150 ~ £3.74)

Bus ticket

Follow the Black line and get off at Stop 6 (MRT Zhong Xiao Fuxing Station)

If you want to find out more about the stops, you can >>click here<<

Once you get off, you will see Pacific SOGO in front of you, keep walking towards Dunhua South road, and San Want Hotel is located on the right side of the road.

*Miss Wai Ting Tips: use a 4 wheel luggage instead of a 2 wheel one! Although it’s only a 10-15 minute walk, having a 4 wheel luggage will make it a lot easier for you. *

This is the hotel Miss Wai Ting stayed with for the 6 day trip.

The good thing about this hotel, is that it is very close to Exit 3 and 4 of Zhongxiao Dunhua MRT station (only 2 mins walk away), which is why Miss Wai Ting practically took the MRT instead of taking the bus XD

But for those who may want to take the bus back to the hotel, then you can take Bus 204, 212,232, 235, 299, 662, or 663 and get off at ZhongXiao Dunhua Station.

The hotel give you a range of free snacks

😋 If you’re familiar with the asian snack Want Want, then you may have already guessed that this Hotel is actually the same company.

This is the view outside Miss Wai Ting’s room, it’s actually quite quiet during the night. And there is actually a Family Mart further down the road, so even if you need to buy something, or get hungry during the night, it’s only a short walk.

After leaving our luggage in the rooms, we then went to have dinner 😋 🍽

If you have seen the Taiwanese drama My Queen, then you may remember that they went to a BBQ restaurant. That’s right! This is exactly the same one!

The staff’s uniform and also the different pictures on the wall is the same as the one in the drama.

One of the special thing about this BBQ restaurant is that everyday at 8pm there are events such as kiss for 10 mins and get a plate of pork belly for FREE!

The staff will also take pictures for you, and you can stick them on to their walls.

After eating, we then took the MRT to Shilin (士林) for the night market there, we walked around for a bit and then took the MRT back to the hotel XD

That’s it folks! For the next Day 2 of 6 trip in Taipei, Miss Wai Ting will be taking you to Yilan!
